Even if all that works out, the ports are too close together and it only records for ten seconds. I made the nectar and followed the directions on assembling it before adding the nectar and hanging it up. One problem... The birds hate it. They won't even go near it. I do like that it uses a usb to charge with, but... It is so easy to assemble and hang up. It is really made well..I didn't care too much for the fact that you can not fill the feeder all the way up with the nectar, or it overflows the feeding tubes and leaks out and makes a huge mess. I also do NOT like that the feeder isn't solar powered in any way. It has to be charged on a "C" series charge cord. Downloading the app and getting camera set up was a breeze. The camera pics were crystal clear...I was amazed. It even comes with scrub brushes to clean it, extra feeder tubes, and extràrubber seals. We live in Florida and get a lot of hummingbirds, so I thought a video hummingbird feeder would be awesome.It is super easy to set up and the app worked immediately. The video quality is mediocre. I mean it’s really cool to see a close up of a hummingbird on the feeder, but it’s not a crisp, clear picture as I would have expected with today’s technology.The main reason I am giving this feeder 3 stars, is because of the charging situation. The camera has to be taken out and charged every couple of days. We have a busy schedule and are quite often not even home during the day, let alone having time to think about charging a camera. We don’t go out much at night here due to bugs. So then, this just doesn’t get charged. | 2024-04-15 | 3.0 | Easy to set up, but there are issues. | I got this hummingbird feeder in blue, which seems to have been a mistake, all my normal feeders are red, and the hummers seem to prefer the red color.This feeder came well packaged and it was easy to set up, and pair with the Vico app (which I already had set up for another feeder) it also came with a selection of brushes for cleaning and a number of extra feeding ports in various colors.It holds a lot of liquid, way more then my hummers could drink a reasonable amount of time.Since this is a hanging camera feeder, it’s susceptible to movement from the wind, which means it’s Motion sensor is tripping (even when set to low) around 100 times a day just to record it’s self swaying in the breeze.I’ve had this feeder out for 4 days and it’s only captured my hummers feeding 3 times. | 2024-04-14 | 3.0 | Camera is decent, but sugar water leaks | Although I like the way this is made and the concept behind it, the Hummingbird sugar water I added pretty much leaked almost all the way out of it within a matter of hours. The camera and sound is decent, but even at the lowest sensitivity setting, every movement makes it record unless I have it in sleep mode. I haven't yet had any hummingbirds yet and, in fact, the only living things attracted to it you can see in the video included, lol!Probably too early in the season for my birds.Also, I wish it came with a solar battery, but it doesn't. So, keeping it awake will run the battery out more quickly since it records so sensitively, only records for 20 second intervals, and then rests for at least 1 minute depending on the settings you've selected, unless you watch it live and hit the record button to catch whatever is in front of the camera, then it records longer, but I haven't tested how long it actually records past about a minute & ½.As for the feature that identifies the type of hummingbird, that is not a free option outside of the trial. I did not sign up for the trial because I'm sure that you most likely have to afd a card number for it and I'm not doing that.I don't think they should include this feature in the description without full transparency of the fact that it is not free.This Hummingbird feeder is not bad, but the overall price, (159.99 at time of this review) is too high. Even with the discounted checkbox offering $30 off, it's still high to me. I have other security cameras that are great and offer more as well as cost less than this feeder.
