I have a newer upscaled router. It has lots of bandwidth. This also makes you recharge the battery. Not able to connect a power source to it. or run solar power to it. Yes, I know you have to change the bird juice to it. But, my battery dies before the 32 OZ is used up. I also like to hang my feeders up in a tree. Then you need to pay for a subscription to use the feature on this feeder. If it was Cheaper or had not subscriptions. This might be worth it. We live in Florida and get a lot of hummingbirds, so I thought a video hummingbird feeder would be awesome.It is super easy to set up and the app worked immediately. The video quality is mediocre. I mean it’s really cool to see a close up of a hummingbird on the feeder, but it’s not a crisp, clear picture as I would have expected with today’s technology.The main reason I am giving this feeder 3 stars, is because of the charging situation. The camera has to be taken out and charged every couple of days. We have a busy schedule and are quite often not even home during the day, let alone having time to think about charging a camera. We don’t go out much at night here due to bugs. So then, this just doesn’t get charged. The camera and sound is decent, but even at the lowest sensitivity setting, every movement makes it record unless I have it in sleep mode. I haven't yet had any hummingbirds yet and, in fact, the only living things attracted to it you can see in the video included, lol!Probably too early in the season for my birds.Also, I wish it came with a solar battery, but it doesn't. So, keeping it awake will run the battery out more quickly since it records so sensitively, only records for 20 second intervals, and then rests for at least 1 minute depending on the settings you've selected, unless you watch it live and hit the record button to catch whatever is in front of the camera, then it records longer, but I haven't tested how long it actually records past about a minute & ½.As for the feature that identifies the type of hummingbird, that is not a free option outside of the trial. I did not sign up for the trial because I'm sure that you most likely have to afd a card number for it and I'm not doing that.I don't think they should include this feature in the description without full transparency of the fact that it is not free.This Hummingbird feeder is not bad, but the overall price, (159.99 at time of this review) is too high. Even with the discounted checkbox offering $30 off, it's still high to me. I have other security cameras that are great and offer more as well as cost less than this feeder.
