I purchased these first then the Sony's when I had problems with the Tonemacs. There is a more detailed review on the Sony product page if you are interested.The Good:1) The Tonemac headset has an exceptional battery life. 40 hours is not an exaggeration. They also charge quite quickly.2) They are very lightweight and don't slide around. The neckband is comfortable.The Bad:1) The sound is extremely muddled. There is no distinction or clarity whatsoever. All sounds are dull and sort of bleed together. There is no "deep bass". Also the volume is very poor. At lower levels you can't hear anything and at higher volume there is significant distortion.2) The Tonemacs drop the Bluetooth connection CONSTANTLY. It doesn't matter what you connect to, it will lose it. Sometimes you have to power the headset down to get it to reconnect. Sometimes you have to forget the connection all together then refind the device to get it to connect. Then in about 20 minutes, you get to do it all again when the connection drops. Infuriating.Also, the range is maybe 5 feet. Seriously.3) They are the most uncomfortable ear buds I have ever used. I purchased some replacement tips which did help but they still hurt my ears after only a few minutes unless you barely put them in your ear. The cords are also irritating and curl and tangle easily.4) The controls are a mess. The buttons are multi-function but trying to forward a track would result in it skipping all over the place. Sometimes it would be the next song or maybe it would just randomly skip 5 songs. Same when trying to go back a track. No amount of careful button pressing seemed to matter.5) I like magnetic headsets but the magnets in these are so weak they wont stick together.I am going to return these and keep the Sony WI-C100 headset. Price was a big influence to my decision as I was replacing an LG headset which at the time was priced in the $60 range but current model pricing got me to looking elsewhere. I found the magnet earbuds swinging freely distracting. They are comparable in terms of features and cost. I purchased these first then the Sony's when I had problems with the Tonemacs. There is a more detailed review on the Sony product page if you are interested.The Good:1) The Tonemac headset has an exceptional battery life. 40 hours is not an exaggeration. They also charge quite quickly.2) They are very lightweight and don't slide around. The neckband is comfortable.The Bad:1) The sound is extremely muddled. There is no distinction or clarity whatsoever. All sounds are dull and sort of bleed together. There is no \deep bass\. Also the volume is very poor. At lower levels you can't hear anything and at higher volume there is significant distortion.2) The Tonemacs drop the Bluetooth connection CONSTANTLY. It doesn't matter what you connect to, it will lose it. Sometimes you have to power the headset down to get it to reconnect. Sometimes you have to forget the connection all together then refind the device to get it to connect. Then in about 20 minutes, you get to do it all again when the connection drops. Infuriating.Also, the range is maybe 5 feet. Seriously.3) They are the most uncomfortable ear buds I have ever used. I purchased some replacement tips which did help but they still hurt my ears after only a few minutes unless you barely put them in your ear. The cords are also irritating and curl and tangle easily.4) The controls are a mess. The buttons are multi-function but trying to forward a track would result in it skipping all over the place. Sometimes it would be the next song or maybe it would just randomly skip 5 songs. Same when trying to go back a track. No amount of careful button pressing seemed to matter.5) I like magnetic headsets but the magnets in these are so weak they wont stick together.I am going to return these and keep the Sony WI-C100 headset. The Sonys also have some issues but they are comfortable, stay connected, and sound about 100x better than these. | UPDATE: After I posted this review, the seller contacted me and offered a full refund. I did a lot of comparing, and I decided to give these TONEMAC N8 Upgraded Wireless Earbuds a chance since they seemed almost identical to my (now discontinued) earbuds. I've only used them for a few days now, but I will say that I'm very happy and pretty impressed with them. The sound quality is great, albeit a bit heavy on the bass - but the actual build quality is superb. They don't feel cheap, the earpieces are comfortable, the button controls are responsive and easy to use, and I haven't had issues with battery life. There's also an easy way to extend the company's warranty, which I did in a couple minutes after opening the package. My only issue is that the wires connecting the earbuds to the neckpiece are a bit too short, so the neckband doesn't actually sit on my neck and it's being held up by the earbuds; which puts a lot of weight on my ear.
