A few hours didn't seem to do much but then right around the end of the first day they started to get that kind of crunchy/tinny noise. If you just use them to work out it would probably take much longer to get to that point, but I do feel like other jlab earbuds i've bought in the past have been more durable. Like the fit, but I've had the same issue with both pairs, after a year, year and a half, one ear bud stops syncing with the other ear bud. I've read the manuals, watched videos, etc., on how to reset, and nothing works. There's MULTIPLE online forums of folks having the same issue. Save your money and a buy a more expensive pair that lasts longer. Also, as noted in a couple other reviews, even in the case these things randomly connect to your phone and can cause all sorts of alarm, battery life, etc., issues. The recommended fix for that issue is to clean the charging ports to get a good connections.
