I go over why the T21 lacks in audio clarity and why Anker is objectively better in most aspects.Background:I have used the Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo ($33) for 4 years and was looking to get new earbuds that last longer on a single charge. I first bought and tried the T21 ($30), but found that the audio clarity was muffled and blurry. I now own the Anker Soundcore P20i ($25).Analysis:I used the website Versus to compare wireless earbuds. The T21 has a sound quality rating of 2/6 while the P20i has a rating of 3/6, similar to the Liberty Neo. Instead of explaining the details on Versus, I will go over what the T21 has that is different.First, the T21 has a 14.2mm driver. That is 4.2mm bigger than the Neo's and P20i. This does not matter however, because the Neo's have a 6mm driver and the wired In-Ear monitors (MEE M6 Pro, $50) connected to my computer have 10mm, same as the P20i. This shows that despite the bigger size, it is how the device is tuned that makes a difference.The next factor that makes a difference is the impedance. Unfortunately, the T21 does not openly share what impedance it has. However, the Neo, P20i, and the M6, display an impedance of 16 Ohms. Likewise, there are many features that the T21 does not have such as: passive noise reduction, codecs, dolby atmos, wireless charging, and find earbuds feature.Both the TOZO & Soundcore (Anker) app do not require you to register to use their equalizer, so that is a plus.Conclusion:Despite the T21's flaws, I believe sound preference is a taste that is acquired and is different for everyone. T12's case and earbuds are designed to let the kernel silicon part point toward the inside of the charging case, and I find that it's literally just the best way to raise germs. I liked how the hardware of T21 is designed... and hoped that the sound quality is somewhat similar to T12. It's sad that the sound quality is really poor. I communicated this to them and it fell on deaf ears. I have four different models of their earbuds. But I'm afraid this latest incarnation is a downgrade from their previous models.The bodies are rigid plastic that I find slippery and difficult to keep a grip on. Every time I've tried to use them in a plane, I end up either almost dropping or actually dropping one on the floor because I find them difficult to handle. The real downgrade for me though is that they no longer offer the adjustable size soft ear cups that previous models had. They are also rigid plastic now. I can get them to fit, but they're very fussy and they simply don't stay in place when I'm walking. And because they don't stay in place for me, I find that affects the sound quality as well which is otherwise excellent.I might still use these if I'm listening at home and just sitting in one place. You go to adjust the thing and then all of a sudden your mom is calling you back screaming in your ear because “you hung up on her.” But in the same breath, I would advise not trying to hang up on someone using this device if you’re trying to leave the conversation sooner than like five seconds after you’re holding your finger to your ear hole. Another annoying thing is when I take them out of the case, I DO see a clear indication on my phone they are connected, but unlike ANY Bluetooth device EVER (at least that I have ever used), there is absolutely no auditory signal that they have connected. And when you turn them off outside of the case, same issue. You don’t know they are truly off unless you check your connected Bluetooth devices. Which is a bit annoying. Over all, not disappointed given the price, but I’m also not too pleased, given the price. In hindsight I woulda waited for something my better to be delivered had I.
