Can I connect 2 doorbells to 1 chime? |
2023-02-14 |
No, not at this time. A Wyze Chime can only be paired with one Wyze Video Doorbell at a time. |

Anything on Wi-Fi can be hacked. If you have a strong password you shouldn’t have a problem. However, if someone hacks it they’ll only see outside your front door. |

It is a doorbell camera with a chime. Two separate items. Just don’t plug in the chimer and there is no chime. |

Yes. When the doorbell is pressed the app on your phone is notified as well as being able to see and talk with the person.
The Wyze doorbell is an added device so that you are also notified in the house when someone presses the doorbell.
Hope that helps. |

Are there any plans to have it announce thru Google mini, speaker, nest hub when someone presses the doorbell or will the chime always be only option? |

We also needed to use the wedge. It is sturdy and attached very securely. The hardest part about installing it was having to drill a new hole in our brick. Also, though the instructions don't mention it, you will need to have a transformer that works with video doorbells. You can get one at Home Depot for $20. |

Be it the wedge or the flat plate, the camera is secured with four clips, you must be able to put the camera on the wedge up a 1/4in then slide it down to lock it in place. You can remove the camera if need be. I am not aware of any video doorbell that is theft proof, the video doorbell wouldn't be registerable to someone who stole it, you should also be able to have some video of someone stealing and hopefully can take action. There are several big disappointments with Wyze doorbell cam, no local storage, you must have a subscription and it's not like Ring doorbell's app that make a sonar sound when someone is detected and Wyze doorbell doesn't ring your phone when the doorbell is rang, it's just a simple notification like the 50 others I get with my 9 cameras between my house, mom's and mother in law's that I help keep an eye on them. You want a good solid video doorbell, get a refurbished Ringdoor v2 or v3, pay $39.99 a year and it works great.

Can you adjust the motion zone like on the cameras? I don't want alert when every car drives by. |
2023-05-30 |
Yes. You can set the areas you want to have marked to avoid unnecessary alerts -- for example, block out the street, keep the driveway, etc. I have become a huge fan of Wyze products because they are simple, easy to use, and just flat-out work straight out of the box. The customer support still needs some work, but otherwise, I highly recommend the products (and no, I am not paid by or invested in the company). |

I would not recommend this doorbell. We have other wyze cameras that we love. We bought this door bell and connected it. (It only rings on chime that you plug in.) It worked for a couple monthes and stopped working completely with all troubleshooting. We have several friends that had the same exact thing happen. The company (contacted several times) said there is a "data error" that they have been working on for close to a year now. Sorry for the long answer but just wanted to warn you. We love our other wyze cameras but this not so much. |

The answer is no. You attach a wire with a fuse (included) to your existing chime which allows your doorbell to bypass your old chime and enable the Wyze chime. The Wyze app allows you to choose from many different doorbell sounds, though |

My doorbell cam will not let me set up? |
2023-05-18 |
I had a similar problem. I found out that in my case my it was the 5g . Internet from Comcast. I had switch to their new Tower which switches between the 5.0/2.4 . when I contacted there was no way to switching off the 5.0. the Wyze runs on the 2.4 and could not get pass the 5.0 to to connect to the 2.4. This might be your problem . I would contact Wyze by email. |

My doorbell cam will not let me set up? |
2023-05-18 |
We had trouble setting up our Wyze doorbell also. We found out that it requires a video doorbell transformer because your regular transformer is not powerful enough. We got ours at Home Depot for $20. Just want to warn you, though, that our doorbell worked fine for about 4 months, then about 3 weeks ago we started getting an error code that disabled our ability to view events, which is the whole purpose of a video doorbell. We've been in contact with support, but they haven't been able to fix it yet. Also, besides not telling you that you need a special transformer, they also don't tell you that it won't work with 5g, so make sure you're settling it up on your 2.4g router setting.

Hello! You can still use the Wyze Video Doorbell even if you don’t have an existing doorbell setup by using a standalone 16V-24V, ≥10W transformer with wires to power up the doorbell. With each home being different, we recommend consulting a professional before attempting your own installation. |

It will have to connect to a power source. In my case I already had the existing electrical. I do not know how much of an electrician you are but it seem pretty straight forward. Running the electric will be the most difficult part of the process it is really simple hook up and almost a plug and play. you just have to put the app on your phone. Then follow some very easy step by step directions. I have this model I am not sure if there is a different model that you can run to a power supply such as an outlet. |
