So you would need either an old phone or lap top that has a SD or TF as they are now called, card reader slot. Otherwise a computer with the ability to read TF cards. But yes it will work for a car. The TF card is rewritable so you would only need to pull the card if you really wanted to pull images from it. You can actually get a car camera for less money and with its only visual display for less money or higher end ones for the same price as this camera.
