Cloudedge only requires a cellphone and a Wi-Fi network to link to the camera. Cloudedge works well and is sufficient for setup and control, but Cloudedge is a proprietary app. The camera does support Alexa and Google Home, but these only enable a few commands. A reflection on the glass might cause that you don’t see a thing. Also, infrared is a problem with a glass (it reflects and might give you visualization issues). The camera detection sensitivity can be changed , there is a power saving mode that can be turned on to conserve even more battery life, how much manual observation you put on the camera ie: watching live through Google home or Alexa. If it's flood light is turned on/off, if you grab audio for the video, how well your panel charges the battery throughout the day. I can say this for certainty. The battery can store at least 24 hrs worth of charge without needing any recharge for general use, under average conditions. But everything I listed above can cause drain on the battery faster. You should use a wifi signal strength app to check for RSSI quality around your house. I wouldn't mount the camera at a location with a RSSI signal of less than -40 dBm. So if where you want to mount the camera has an RSSI signal of -50 dBm, you will get plenty of dropouts. Remember, it's a negative number, so -50 is less than -40. My camera is approximately 200 ft from my wifi and works flawlessly . The pictures and video control is amazing you will have to purchase a small memory card to save video and pictures. The 360 pan and zoom is amazing this all runs off of a solar panel that comes with the unit . I would not put this camera in the window because it will reflect the inferred camera for night viewing.
