Yes, the plugs seem to reset after power interruption. The plugs reconnected to my router perfectly when power was restored. I have had no problems once power returned. |

Stay away from Wyze products. I ordered two Wyze smart plugs. BOTH HAVE DIED - THEY SIMPLY QUIT WORKING. No help from Wyze. |

The new update rendered ALL of these plugs unusable and Wyze tech support has NO answer. They continue to sell these plugs knowing they do NOT work out of the box. |

I see no reason why not. Just watch total amps but I doubt what you plan is a problem. |

Your problem isn't getting a projector to work. The PROBLEM is getting the Wyze plug to work. They are flawed devices!! |

Can this operate a smart tv |
2023-03-06 |
All it would do is turn on and off the power. Assuming it’s an LCD tv it should fall inside the power limits. But check both the TV load and the plug limit. I only use the plugs for lamps. |

This smart plug only acts as a switch that can be controlled by a smart phone or by "Alexa". It can be used to turn on or off any electrical device, including a smart TV, but it won't "operate" it as a remote control would. |

I never used this item. I tried, but found that I needed a 2.4 wireless connection. I could not set a second 2.4 network on my 5GHz wireless router. I had to return the plugs. |

These plugs are for (on & off) conditions. Example a light turned on then the plug is shut off. When the plug is turned on the light will lite.
You need to check the Wyze documents to make sure the TV doesn't draw too much power for the plug. If you can use it for a TV then the plug can be turned on but the TV will not start until you hit the TV power button unless you can set the TV to always on the the plug will work. |

Do indoor cameras an the remote plus require a hub? |

I've bought three of these plugs. In each case, the plug stopped working within 60 days and cannot be reset into a working condition. In my experience, they are complete junk. The smart motion detector would probably work but only for as long as this inferior plug works. |

Can I have a smart motion detector trigger this plug? |
2023-03-26 |
If you are using a Wyze brand of motion detector (or a Wyze camera for that matter) you should be able to create a rule to trigger the plug. If you are using a non-Wyze brand of motion detector the process won't work. |

Can the plugs be activated by activity on a Wyze camera? |
2023-02-02 |
The Wyze app is quite flexible and can have rules set up where a certain event triggers something else to happen. I haven't done it specifically, but I would think it's doable. The outlets do work great and it takes just a few minutes to set them up. |

Reach out to Wyze technical support. Report back to Amazon the service you receive which will be zero. Wyze is way in over their head. Do NOT buy their products until they can remove their heads from their sphincters. |

Can i check the on-off state remotely from where I can't see the plugged in device? Is there feedback that the command was executed? |
2022-11-23 |
You can use a voice command with a third-party speaker/mic device or use the Wyze app and widgets on your phone or tablet to control the plug. If voice, the third-party device should acknowledge it has sent the command. If app/widget, you will see a visual indicator of the plug's status of off or on. |

The Wyze app will show the status. If the network is down there is an on/off button on the plug so you can still use the outlet. |

The app, whichever one you are using, will tell the status of the switch. If you are looking for a visual then you will need to buy a camera for remote viewing. |

Would these alert you of there is a power outage? |
2022-12-06 |
No, it can't tell the difference between "offline" and "offline because of a power outage" and would have no power during the outage to inform you. The app would just show 'offline' or be unable to connect. |
Average Joe |
2022-12-06 |
Would these alert you of there is a power outage? |
2022-12-06 |
No, you would need to access the app and turn on the device. If there is no power to turn the device on then it will not show that it is turned on. So they will not "alert" you but you can manually check. Wyze has probably the WORST customer service on the planet. When the products work they work, when they don't you are SOL. |

Would these alert you of there is a power outage? |
2022-12-06 |
No, they are nothing like that. They connect to your wifi and listen for on/off signals from Wyze. If power goes out, they're just plastic and wires. In my experience when the power comes back on they will default to the on/off state they were last in. However, (I BELIEVE) if it's been "too long" then it defaults to "off" when the power is restored for safety. |

I don't know your specific computer or equipment but most of the time these items don't like to have their power just turned off. Both should go through a shutdown process. I wouldn't recommend shutting either down by just turning off the power. |

Can this be used to safely turn items off such as a computer or a 3D printer? |
2022-09-27 |
I would not shut off a computer with one. Computers need to go through a proper shutdown procedure to avoid the risk of causing errors or problems. If the computer was already off and you just wanted to make sure it couldn't be readily turned on then it would probably be safe. As far as 3D printers, It would probably depend on the 3D printer you're using, I would contact the maker to answer this question. |
