Long story, short answer- yes. I had to contact Arlo’s tech support for an answer. I learned that when my trial subscription expired- I would no longer be able to view my recently purchased camera recordings. In order to continue using these cameras in the same manner, that is, by synching Arlo’s cloud storage” via your Wi-Fi setup- I would need to subscribe. I considered the less expensive $10 per month over another option which had more “bells and whistles,” but costed $15 per month. But then, I found that there is a “work around.” The tech support person advised me that based on my cameras- I could purchase one of two compatible base units, the model VMB4540 or the VMB5000, and that either would eliminate the need for a subscription. I could re-sync my cameras to the base unit, and it would provide the storage, as well as, viewing capability- locally. On Amazon, I purchased the VMB5000, and it’s on its way- I’ll revise this review- once I’ve got it all connected and synched. Here’s what happened when my trial subscription expired. I continue to receive app notifications when any of my four cameras are triggered to record, and in the device section- I can view a snapshot of what a camera recorded, but I cannot view the video captured in its entirety in the library section. | Huevosgigantes1 | 2022-12-17 |

The mounts tend to vary, you will get a couple magnetic mounts and at least 1 adjustable mount. Best to consult the package description and image to see what mounts come with it. If you wish to keep your cameras connected to either AC power or a solar panel, those are optional. The batteries do last a good long time when fully charged. Battery operated cameras are a problem no matter what spin is put on them. Weak light, won’t retrigger on motion, constantly removing and reinstalling to recharge, magnetic cradle won’t give you an angle steeper than 30 degrees of view, 140 degree of view doesn’t give much depth of field for clarity, night vision isn’t that great between 1080 and 2K cameras. On top of all that Arlo wants you to subscribe. These are my complaints yours may differ. Don’t get me wrong Arlo Pro 4 cameras are best of breed in quality but security cameras are still evolving.
