As for why they don't have a physical button to turn them on/off: It is to increase the amount of space for a bigger battery (longer life). As for why they don't have a simple software "on/off" in their Soundcore App? Probably because while a power off command is simple enough to create wirelessly, how would you wirelessly power on again without having a system running 24/7 inside the earbuds awaiting the command to turn on?
