I would also recommend performing a factory reset and setting your Camera back up. You can reset your Camera by poking the reset button which is next to the USB port until it beeps. After the reset is done, follow the steps under Set Up a Device to set your Camera back up. Test it out to see how the recording audio sounds and if the static is still present.
