I bought an outdoor and indoor security camera. The indoor camera has connected to the network and video is of good quality. You could plug into a rechargeable battery pack or backup battery I suppose, and trade those off (have one ready to replace the other). You could do that by putting the battery in a mounted box and then wiring into the box. Match the battery or use a voltage regulator to mate to the camera input requirement. However, all that done this camera is not a good unit. Big, bulky, looks like a toy (does not give you confidence in those checking out your security) -- you should look for alternative units.
