But please don’t connect the cable from PoE switch directly to the camera. On the camera end, use a PoE splitter to split the PoE cable to power and data, then connect to the camera. The cameras have wifi relay, so all you really need is a good connection to the closest one to your NVR and the others will be connected using the relay. Whether you use the Ethernet connection and the device(s) have a POE capability shouldn't matter, but I've never tried that so I don't know. | Kenneth U. | 2022-08-07 |

That said, I am not overly impressed with the auto tracking feature of these cameras. Oftentimes the birds in the trees are detected, outlined as humans, and tracked. Only two of my cameras auto track correctly, and one of them always turns itself backwards in the housing and then won't respond to commands. Whenever it's stormy or rainy, the auto tracking goes crazy no matter how it's adjusted. | What type of cable would you purchase to use this camera wired to NVR? | 2022-07-27 | These are primarily wireless cameras (note the antenna at the top of the picture.) They do have an Ethernet cable jack on the back if you wanted to run such cable. They require power, and you can see the power adapter with a 25' cable on it. In our home, I had an electrician install electrical outlets at each location we mounted the cameras. I chose to have the outlets inside our attic with a large 3" hole in the siding, and then run the cables inside the attic, close up the hole with a piece of waterproof material and caulk the fittings, and paint the siding. At the electrical outlet, I put a single outlet surge arrestor (which has worked very well so far with the electrical storms we get in Florida.) As for the wifi, an excellent feature is wifi relay from camera to camera, so the initial connection is the closest camera to the NVR, and then each camera relays to the next one.
