| How are the mid range of these? Lots of Bluetooth earbuds have good bass and vibrant treble but sacrifice the mid range where the music really lives. | 2023-02-26 | Out of the box the coaxial design of these earbuds lends itself to a v-shaped frequency response. The initial output is bass and treble dominant, but this is not a bad thing necessarily as it's generally preferable to be able to reduce frequencies that you don't want rather than have to heavily boost frequencies that you do want. The initial v-shaped response is easily corrected with the EQ in the app. My preferred EQ curve gives a slight bump to 800, 1.6, and 3.2k while rolling off sibilance at 6.4k. I boost 12.8k a bit to restore some "air" to the compressed music files. I also roll off a bit of 200 and 400 Hertz to reduce the boxiness a little bit, opening up the vocals. I do wish soundcore would add a “Q“ control to the EQ in some future update to the app to better allow for fine tuning the frequency response. The eight bands of equalization are more than adequate to correct the inherent deficiencies of the device. The noise reduction is pretty good too, which helps with all of that. If you're asking if the sound quality is good, yeah. They'll "blow you away" with how good they sound. Bass is good, but not overpowering. Good sound separation, and the soundstage is well defined. If there's a flute playing a little behind you to the left, it's easy to place it. If I use them with my android phone, or apple tablet, the app has to be installed or they won't connect at all. You need the app to configure how the buttons behave, and what the default for ANC is.
