Do i need a larger transformer than 16v? when rang it goes offline, cones back after amin or so. same when on detection. detects, 3s then off again. 2023-01-12 16v should be fine, and the doorbell only needs about 200milliamps. If you have a lot of wire between the transformer and doorbell you might be suffering from voltage loss on the cable, so worth checking the actual voltage at the doorbell end with a multimeter. Does this camera have a Web Interface? 2022-12-29 No it does not. I do NOT recommend. If you have other Amcrest products you will have to use multiple apps to view the cameras. A real PITA. Each app takes several seconds to load, even when switching between open apps. Daniel E. 2022-12-29

Am i restricted to only using the amcrest home app? i wanted to directly connect to the doorbell camera though a browser (chrome/firefox). 2023-04-19 You can easily access the camera through a browser using its ip address as the URL IF you are inside the camera's network. If you are not inside the camera's network, you will have to configure your router/gateway to do a port forwarding to your camera, not hard to do if you know what you are doing. You can also access the camera using Amcrest's Surveillance Pro software on a PC or Mac, download from their site, but again, you need to be inside the camera's network. Another alternative is Blue Iris, works very well with that software and you can access it from anywhere. AP 2023-04-19

Am i restricted to only using the amcrest home app? i wanted to directly connect to the doorbell camera though a browser (chrome/firefox). 2023-04-19 You probably can because Chrome is pretty much like a smart phone you download the app, I don't see why not Deisy 2023-04-20
when the listing states this works with electrical chimes, can you give a few examples? I see the ring chime (wifi) but what about non wifi? 2023-01-16 Basically it’s reusing existing electric chimes. It has a chime kit to provide extra power supply to make current chime work. If you don’t install this kit it won’t be stable. Derek 2023-01-17

I have the wiring but do not have an electronic or mechanical chime. Will this still work? 2023-02-05 You would need to add a chime so it would ring inside the house. Or else it would just be alerting from the phone. JC 2023-02-05
I have the wiring but do not have an electronic or mechanical chime. Will this still work? 2023-02-05 You can set it so that your phone will alert you that someone has rang the bell. If you have Alexa, it can also announce the ring bell. the bubba 2023-02-05
I have the wiring but do not have an electronic or mechanical chime. Will this still work? 2023-02-05 Yes, as long as the wiring is hooked up to an AC transformer somewhere (usually in the basement or near your home's breaker box) and the bell wiring at the door has 16-24 volts AC. It will power up the camera, and once it's set up then it'll work like normal, except the "chime" sound will only be heard on your phone. If you're not home and someone presses the button, people inside the home who don't have the app set up will not hear any sort of chime or bell sound, and they won't know that someone's at the door. I suppose you could set up some sort of Amazon Alexa device that sit's on a counter top or table.. that would make the bell sound when a visitor presses the button. DGewey 2023-02-06
