If you are not inside the camera's network, you will have to configure your router/gateway to do a port forwarding to your camera, not hard to do if you know what you are doing. You can also access the camera using Amcrest's Surveillance Pro software on a PC or Mac, download from their site, but again, you need to be inside the camera's network. Will this still work? | 2023-02-05 | Yes, as long as the wiring is hooked up to an AC transformer somewhere (usually in the basement or near your home's breaker box) and the bell wiring at the door has 16-24 volts AC. It will power up the camera, and once it's set up then it'll work like normal, except the "chime" sound will only be heard on your phone. If you're not home and someone presses the button, people inside the home who don't have the app set up will not hear any sort of chime or bell sound, and they won't know that someone's at the door.
