This is the norm for most cameras of this type. enter your routers settings and you can change it to 2.4g, your phone has to be at 2.4g as well. your phone only needs this to be on 2.4g for the setup. once the setup is comlpete you can return phone to 5g. | G.M. | 2021-11-20 |

| My vimtag camera is not compatible with 5g? | 2021-11-19 | Nope.But a lot (perhaps most) routers are dual band, with both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. Mine is dual band but I still couldn't get it to connect. I have older Vimtag cameras that were 2.4 but were able to connect. I had to change router settings (a tech did this) to prioritize 5Ghz band, and although I still have the 2.4 band it doesn't connect to my new one. The old ones still work after the change in router settings but I can't help believe that that change in settings is why the new one won't connect. I didn't want to mess with my router settings myself for fear of screwing everything up. If you have a dual band try contacting the router company to see if they can do something about your problem.
