I don't know exactly how many decibels it makes, but I'd guess maybe 50-60db; it's not that loud. I recommend that you install this camera only indoors as it does not distinguishes movement of humans from swinging branches, animals or other moving objects, so it triggers false alarms often. But you can control both the area that responds to motion and the sensitivity so that it will react less frequently. At night the range is much more limited because it relies on its infrared light that has a range of about 30 feet. If you can see the motion in the camera's image, it will react to it. | E. The garage camera we’ve had for 2 yrs in northern WI. Have had no problems. The house camera was put up this yr. We live 215 miles from the property and have had no issues.
