Is this the newer V2 model or older camera? |
2023-02-19 |
No V2 is mentioned anywhere on the page of these cams, so they must be the older model. |

No, POE IP (Power over Ethernet) no batteries to replace ever. But you will need a POE switch and you will have to run cable to the cameras. These cameras are better inside cameras than outside cameras. They get blurry at night after a rainstorm, at least at my house. I purchased an Amcrest without the cover and no problems so far. |

These are POE Cameras designed to be ran through a POE Switch for data and power. No, these are Power Over Ethernet (POE). They will require either a separate POE injector (they are not included), or your network switch/router will need to supply the power. Most home routers/switches are not support 48v POE as required. Here are some suggestions/examples otherwise:
Single POE injector - https://smile.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-PoE150S-Injector-Adapter-Compliant/dp/B001PS9E5I/
5-Port Switch with POE - https://smile.amazon.com/TP-Link-Compliant-Shielded-Optimization-TL-SG1005P/dp/B076HZFY3F/ |

No. They are not Wi-Fi. They get their power AND communicate through a network cable which is connected to either a POE switch or a power injector. |

Does this support H.265 compression...? |
2019-03-18 |
Yes. It supports both H.265 and H.264. Make sure that your network supports the volume of data which is transferred by H.265. |

does this camera have to be pluged into the Poe injector or switch? |
2020-04-22 |
It is highly recommended to use a POE Switch for the camera's Power and Data. Please click on this link for a good robust POE Switch to try. - https://www.amazon.com/Amcrest-Housing-4-Ports-Ethernet-AMPS5E4P-AT-58/dp/B073V4STQR/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Amcrest+POE+Switch&qid=1587593500&sr=8-3.

does this camera have to be pluged into the Poe injector or switch? |
2020-04-22 |
Hi, you can use either, a direct connection between a POE switch and the camera, or if you have a regular switch (non POE), you can connect the injector to the switch, then the injector to the camera. The POE switch works really well, specially if you need to connect other ethernet devices (even if the other devices are not POE) |

It has to be plugged into a POE socket. This is how it gets power to operate. |

Is the camera adjustable? The front of my house doesn't have a top cover, just a wall. |
2020-01-09 |
Yes, you can remove the dome and articulate the lens in a lower vertical position. Be sure that there is no cascading water that will run along the wall behind the camera.

I think you are asking if the camera can be wall mounted rather than mounted on the underside of the eaves (soffit). The answer to that is YES. The camera is mounted on a small plastic gimbal that allows it to spin around 360 degrees and rotate up an down along one axis. In addition, the camera can rotate clockwise and counter clockwise within the gimbal. With that flexibility, you can get the camera to point in any direction with the right combination of positioning the gimbal, axis, and rotation. I've mounted these upside down, on walls, on slopes. |

Do these cameras have a built in microphone for recording sound? |
2020-01-04 |
No, however you can add in a Mic. Please click on this link for where to go to get the compatible Mic for the cameras. - https://www.amazon.com/Amcrest-Microphone-Surveillance-Recording-AM-HAP200-10FTRCACABLE/dp/B07RH8FZ4N/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Amcrest+AM-HAP200&qid=1578327425&sr=8-3.

will these cams work with the avigilon NVR system ? |
2020-12-28 |
Amcrest doesn't recommend running 3rd party NVRs with Amcrest Technologies due to software incompatibilities which will cause feature loss.
