| what kind of wifi do I need | 2021-05-17 | If I understand the question correctly ; There are two types of WiFi at this time #1 . 2.4 Ghz, longer range, slower. speed ( less bandwidth). #2. 5 Ghz, shorter range, Faster speed ( more bandwidth). * NOT to be confused with cellular 5G * Most of todays routers have both. So You need to deside. A. Does the device (web cam, TV streaming, computer, etc) work with one or both). B. Is there any interference or congestion on eather band ( lots of other stations) C. How far do I need the 'strong' signal to reach (out to the garage, pool, etc). Everyone using there tables and computers in the same playroom were the router is a good choice for 5 G. Usage spread around the house, upstairs, outside, garage, etc. Away from the router is good for 2 4 G. * Strong signal. (Line of sight helps). * No interference! (From other WiFi, microwave, armature radio, other electronic devices, etc) * 2.4 G can accommodate multiple streaming in a home inviroment under the right conditions. They are worthless and your Camera is defective and I would send it back where you bought it and tell them you want a refund. That’s exactly what I did. I've got four of these cameras in four different locations and they have all been working over a period of several years. They are a very cost-effective way of checking in on remote sites and have the alert notifications. I use a Verizon wifi for low cost communications at the remote sites when I'm not in the area for extended periods of time. I think they are selling for around forty bucks now. Good luck. | S. But the night vision without the ir light is really good even with just the moonlight. The ir is great but only when there is absolutely no available light.
