What is the wi-fi distance beyond which the camera will not work? | 2023-03-26 | The camera is the link to the nearest Wi-Fi connection so the camera links to the good Wi-Fi connection and registered with the app and it doesn't matter how far away you are as long as your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi connection or 4G, not support 5G as long as the phone and app are connected to Wi-Fi or 4G it doesn't matter how far away you are from the camera so basically as long as you have an Internet connection the app will connect to any network and the app will access the account. The camera is set to and you can see what's going on so there is no distance problem I have been about 2 miles away and it's worked perfectly sometimes takes a few seconds to connect. | Can 24/7 continuous recording be enabled and if so how? | 2023-04-21 | You could but it would very quickly use up its internal batteries meaning a person would be having to charge the battery very often. Its not really for use in that scenario. I have mine set in the app to trigger recording when some one passes in front of the camera at time periods of my choosing. You can also manualy record via the app if ur suspicious of something in its view and its not a movement trigger time period. Its pretty good, and using trigger events the battery lasts for months depending on how busy the camera has been. Its really not viable as an easy non wired solution if u need continued camera observation 24/7 IMHO. To be fair to the manufacturer, it does what its been designed for, and does it well, but not for long term continuous recording just using its internal batteries. I suppose u could get two external battery power banks and plug one into the camera while charging the other in rotation to extend usage for continued recording, but thats a lot of extra faffing around and not a charge and forget solution for a few months at a time. Probably not what u wanted to hear, but the app is versitile with notifications to ur phone/tablet and g8 perhaps in some settings.
