If I have this close enough will the birds on my bird table activate camera? |
2021-10-18 |
Possible. However i dont think this is a very good match for what i think you are after. Although the wireless part seems apealing, the video would be too choppy to enjoy the birds in their 'twitchy' goodness. If you want to be able to watch the birds live i wouldn't recomend this camera (Its ace as a very low maintenance security cam though).
If you wanted to just have pic or video of whats visiting, I also have a camo wildlife camera (also from Amazon) that i use for fox cubs. Although its a bit of a hassle using batteries and a SD card, the results are much better. |

Will probably be ok. Certainly pigeons activate mine. It needs heat and movement so some small birds may not trip the sensor. If your Wi-Fi reaches the camera you can watch in real time. |

Yes - it has happened to me but only if it is within a couple of feet of the camera but roaming animals do set it off. |

Yes , you could film them easily from at least 2 metres and get really good quality video and stills. Mounted on a tripod would get best images. |

Hi, for Reolink Argus Pro, with "low" sensitivity(three options, "low", "mid", "high", freely set up via Reolink App/Client), the detecting distance is up to 13ft for moving and living things. Mid sensitivity: 20ft, High sensitivity: 30ft. |

Would this work remotely over a cell network considering cgnat issues? |
2021-10-03 |
Hello, this camera only supports a 2.4GHz wifi connection. As long as your router and your phone are connected to the internet, you can remotely access the camera via your phone. If you want a 4G LTE camera which works with a SIM card, you may consider Reolink GO: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JFWRHN3 |

Hi. We have 2 of these cameras and have been able to access and operate them when away on holiday so I think this would be fine. We’ve turned the camera recording on and off remotely too. |

What type of SIM card would you need & amount of data for me being away for 6 months? |
2021-08-11 |
Hi, for the product link to Reolink Argus Pro you placed here, it doesn't work with SIM card. You could consider Reolink Go https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JFWRHN3, or Reolink Go PT https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08793V6VZ. For Reolink Go/Go PT, usually a 1GB data plan is enough to use per month. The recommended SIM cards: O2, EE, Vodafone (Prepaid SIM card ONLY), JT. |

2021-08-11 |
it uses your wifi from your home set up, it doesn't have the facility to use a SIM card so in turn you won't need data.
As long as it has a good position to charge via the solar panel you should be good to go. |

Mini SD card. Use the largest GB for your camera , 32 or 64 GB depending on the camera. It depends on the number of activations how much it will store. Also the resolution and length of time you set it to to record when activated , if you are expecting just 3 or 4 activations per day then set it to the highest quality resolution and about 20 seconds record time , if the activity continues longer than 20 seconds then it will be activated to record again so you won,t miss anything. If you are expecting multiple activations per day then set to a low resolution and reduce record time to 5 seconds. |

The panel is only used to charge the battery. The non solar version requires charging from a USB lead (like a mobile phone). I don't think this model is designed to be used with a permanent power connection though. |

Hi, yes, you can directly plug the camera into the USB adapter (then to the electrical outlet) for working & charging. But the continuous charging of the camera affects the life of the battery. |

Can you access the Reolink Client installed on a local computer remotely, or do you need to connect to each camera directly from your smartphone? |
2021-07-25 |
It is possible to retrieve recordings and live view from the recorder remotely. Wi-fi cameras have to be loaded individually to your phone. If you set up as directed in the user manual things work out fine. You can view on the computer app or the phone app, remote will not need your computer to be active. |

If you mean when does the camera change to night it when light gets dim usually twilight. In the height of summer my night vision turns off at 4am and turns on at 10.30pm. But that's going to be different depending on where you live. I hope this answers you question. |

I have an android phone and I can connect. However, with the camera outside, it fails to pickup the wi-fi, and therefore unable to connect for real time viewing. My camera has an SD card slot. I therefore use that to copy to my PC to view what the camera has seen in the past. Hope this helps. |
