I would like to know the diameter of the camera body because I plan to point it through a hole in a wall of my garage. What size hole is required? |
2023-04-06 |
Cameras I have are 62mm diameter and the body is approx 105mm at the longest point. The model is a 510a |

Yes connect router/hub that your ISP gives to the switch, then switch to camera. Standard BT , Sky routers etc don't allow for POE |

2022-11-22 |
The <8W power consumption stated relates to when you are using a 12V DC power source for the camera.
If used over POE (Power Over Ethernet)) the voltage is 48V so the current consumption should be less but taking very much the came power ie 8Watts or less. |

Quick and easy one to answer and that is no.
The camera connects via cable that provides power and also sends the data out to your router and that in turn sends the picture/ data stream to your phone or PC. |

At the end of the cabling has a waterproof capsulate to fit both RJ45 and the power adaptor connection. However I still recommend you use the PoE switch and connect RJ45 with cable 5/6 outdoor cable. 1. you may want more than one camera.2. connect outdoor you better use outdoor Spec, devices and connection. |

The wire coming from the camera not only has an RJ45 ethernet connector but also a reset button and 12 volt connector. How to waterproof these two? |

There is no easy way. I mounted my camera so that I could feed the three wires through enlarged ventilation holes in the soffit board. I use POE so do not need the power socket. I took a gamble and covered this and the reset button in self amalgamating tape. The ethernet connection was placed in the cover provided and so far there has been no problem.
This procedure does require access to the soffit board from within the roof space.
Hope this helps. |

Hi, I used to operate this cam with an SD card but it was very inconsistent with its playback and I could never view it remotely consistently. If you’ve pulled the connections into a loft space where they are not exposed to the weather then probably not. I didn’t.
However where I have two cameras that are mounted on a sofit I’ve put the reset switch, dc adaptor and RJ45 connections in an adaptable box to keep the weather off. This also has the advantage that you can access the reset without having to crawl into a loft space. |

Hello. The camera can capture live JPEG image via web browsers.
You may capture live images of your cameras by entering the URL into a web browser.
The URL should be:
http://(ip address)/cgi-bin/api.cgi?cmd=Snap&channel=0&rs=(any combination of numbers and letters)&user=(user name)&password=(user password)
For example, if your IP address is 192.168.2.119, the username is admin and the password is 123456, then the URL should be:
http://192.168.2.119/cgi-bin/api.cgi?cmd=Snap&channel=0&rs=wuuPhkmUCeI9WG7C&user=admin&password=123456
You may refresh the website to get a new snapshot of your live image.

Unfortunately, the answer is, it depends.
I would guess that it has about a 30 degree sweep left to right whereby tge image is still mostly horizontal. Due to the design of the bracket, IIRC, any more than that requires rotating the camera / image. |

No, I set them up using my pc. Quite simple. I would say you could set them up just using the phone app if needs be. |

Not sure what you mean by a 'qvr' if you mean a QR code, the answer is no if connecting to a PC but might be useful when connecting to a smartphone in order to download the Reolink App, but you could get the app using your phone browser. |

No, you can do everything through the web interface via a pc. The video capacity will be (very) limited to the card size you use.
I'm using an old 2tb NAS which I clear every month back to the last 7 days. I have 3 cameras, one of which is constantly activated by movement on the road outside. I have it set like that as neighbours have had stuff stolen from their cars. This really bumps up the storage requirement. |

not sure what a QVR is, to setup the camera you connect to the network then scan the QR code on the camera, this will allow you to setup the camera including password, username, etc... it is a er quick and easy process especially on future cameras as you will already have the reolink app installed. in short you need a POE switch and a mobile device to set this up |

Hello. The NVR is not a must. You can power this Poe outdoor security camera via the DC 12V adapter or the 48V 802.3afxa0compliant Poe switch and insert the sd card to save the recording. Then you can watch the living video stream and record video via the Reolink APP downloaded on your phone and PC Client for free. |

No subscription required but I assume you mean to record captured video to a cloud storage system and if that’s what you mean it will be yes you do need a sub, assuming they do one.
Mine sits on my local network and records to a local network recorder and in turn can be viewed without a subscription.I think you can put a mini SD card in the camera to record to that but I’ve never use it because if someone nicks your camera you video of the thief goes with it.
You can down load an app for your phone for viewing away from home and works OK with my iPhone but the app for viewing locally on your PC is a bit clunky but works once you get your head around it.

"Hi, the bitrate affects video quality and recording file size. In general, the higher the bitrate, the better the image and audio quality and the larger the file size.
Here is the relationship between SD card capacity, bitrate, and recording time:
1. By 128GB SD card, with a bitrate of 2048 kbps, this camera can record for 145.6 hours; with a bitrate of 5120 kbps, this camera can record for 58.3 hours; with a bit rate of 8192 kbps, this camera can record for 36.4 hours.
2. By 64GB SD card, with a bitrate of 2048 kbps, this camera can record for 72.8 hours; with a bitrate of 5120 kbps, this camera can record for 29.1 hours; with a bit rate of 8192 kbps, this camera can record for 18.2 hours.
If you have any questions about SD cards, feel free to contact us via Amazon message."

Poe injector needed for the camera to power on? |

You either need a PoE enabled switch or a PoE injector. I used an injector to setup before I replaced with a PoE enabled switch for both my cameras. |
