I tried to attach the camera to my wifi with the cable provided and it didn’t connect to my phone ? |
2021-02-24 |
Thats not a wifi camera it' s suposed to connect to youre router thru a poe injector or switch.
If you have downloaded the reolink app and followed the instructions then there shouldn't be any problems. |

What is the power consumption in watts per camera? |
2021-06-23 |
Hello, the power consumption of this camera is less than 10w, and the power input that can be used is DC12V 1A, or 48V PoE(IEEE 802.3af). |

What is the power consumption in watts per camera? |
2021-06-23 |
This camera will run perfectly on 15w per channel switches, however if you haven't purchased a switch then go for the best poe+ switch that you can afford as this will give you a 30watt per port allocation.
An 8port poe+ switch is around £100. |

Can this recognise a car number plate or is it possible for me to see it at night clearly and if so at what distance? |
2023-04-06 |
This camera doesn't read number plates and the ones I had the picture quality was grainy so it would be difficult to read the number plates. These cameras were poor quality I would look elsewhere there are better ones on the market. |

Afternoon,
Unfortunately these are not number plate recognising, depends on the angle of the camera and settings of the IR but I have found these are best for that.

2023-04-06 |
Hello. Please note that this camera is not specially made to pick up license plates. And it allows you to read a license plate within 13 ft under normal status. However, we do not recommend applying it to catch license plates as there may be a light reflection on the number plate and the speed of the car would also affect the performance. |

The camera has 3 settings. Fluent, Balanced,& Clear. Only ‘Clear ‘will show up the number plate if motor is up to 50 feet away, more than that then no so.
Also for recording, get a 982 sd card. This will record for up to 14 days. Hope this helps |

Does it have to have the poe box and i’ve order longer cables to attach from the poe i ordered with |
2021-02-24 |
Not sure of the question but, it has an RJ45 socket (on a wire) that an RJ45 cable will enable connection to a recorder or router or PC with a POE enabled output.
Other than that it works really well. |

Hello, this camera can work independently. You can power the camera with a DC12V adapter or with a POE switch/injector/NVR. |

The camera can use either PoE or a DC barrel connector for power.
I personally prefer PoE injectors / a PoE network switch as it's more convenient to run one cable rather than 2. |

You can use it in 2 ways. Either by plugging the network cable into a poe switch/poe injector or you can buy a 12v power supply and plug that into the seperate 12v socket on the connector and plug the network cable straight into a normal ethernet switch/nas.
I did have a couple of these reolink cameras but they weren't very good. One died within 24 hours and the performance of the second wasn't upto scratch the image quality was very pixalated. I ended up sending mine back. |

What kind of ethernet cable is included? (e.g. cat 5e) |

I don't recall if there was an included cable, but if there was it would have been cat5e, as that is more that sufficient for the power and data requirements of the camera. |

Mime came with a basic cat5, bu use your own as the supplied cable is only a meter long.
Work out your camera location and purchase the relevant cat6/7/8 cable.
I used a small 10cm x10cm waterproof box to store all of the cables coming out of the camera.
Im very happy with these cameras. |

2022-05-09 |
The camera includes a short ethernet cable (moulded together with a 12v power socket cable and a reset button) which has a RJ45 socket for connection to a PoE switch. You will have to provide your own Cat5e cable which can be readymade or cut to length, but then you will need to crimp your own RJ45 connectors. |
