This helpful device can adjust by tilting to whichever angle you choose, laying down or sitting up. Check the width of the base, which angles outward from the top to the bottom. Consider where you will best place it over your body while laying down. Also keep in mind which kind of device you are setting in the adjustable sliding bar, i.e. the width of the tablet or mobile phone. I use it for my Kindle at bedtime and it has a cover on it that I need to accommodate between the sliding brackets. It took me several trials to cinch it, but my determination paid off. You can't attach a laptop, but an iPad works. I like the stand and appreciate that it folds up "just okay", but it beats taking it all apart each time. BTW, keep the instructions handy and be prepared to have patience assembling it the first time. It was cleverly designed and you will appreciate that once it's all together.
