I have purchased many Eify security devices and have been generally well pleased. They are often much better than their brand name competitor made by the “R” company. However - NOWHERE online, in the instruction manual, or in Eufy Tech Support does it state you are REQUIRED to purchase the S380 Home base device for this camera to be configured or to even work. It has built-in 2.4/5ghz wifi on the camera, but the home base is 2.4ghz only. I would absolutely return this and find another product if I had known I had to buy more network equipment but, alas, the Amazon return window closed 2 days before I discovered this little secret.
