us REOLINK B0B2P9GH3C R1YNZLZ0ITWR5U Verified Purchase Fuj 2023-06-01 1.0 4.0 Died after only 2 months Had this in my backyard, now my garage camera Was working great, complete view of my backyard. Then suddenly yesterday it quick working. Was operating well within specified temperatures. Pretty expensive for a paperweight. I initially though this camera died after 2 months but suddenly it started working again. I'm not sure what happened, I think it was just the app. For the last year I had this monitoring my entire backyard. The image quality is pretty good and the field of view is spectacular. It has held up in all kinds of weather. I can't give it 5 starts however, because the detection isn't very good, and night vision isn't great either. It will detect a person but if they are too far away it will not. Infrared attracts bugs at night and you sd card will be filled with false alerts, even though I've tried to change settings a dozen different times. Still good, but not great. I decided to replace this camera this year with a different Reolink model and moved this in the garage. It replaces a different realink camera I had in there. I can see my entire garage with this thing and it works well in there, and should catch anyone attempting to break in and steal anything. Overall I'm pleased with it, but I don't think I'd buy another one, I prefer the POE cameras that I can rotate even though they don't have as wide of a field of view. 2023-06-04 02:18:58 2024-04-05 01:24:30
us REOLINK B0B4S6F749 R3H2SJGDIP0LJM Verified Purchase Alan M. 2024-04-23 1.0 3.0 Reolink conceals missing features 3.0 out of 5 stars I have had more than a dozen Reolink cameras over the years, and have needed to replace several due to failure. But at least the variety of Reolink models all offered the same basic features (e.g., being able to access them via a browser by default). In contrast, this camera requires a Windows PC in order to activate the ports. So if you don't have a Windows PC, you're out of luck. The listing should clearly state \Needs Windows PC to operate all features.\I know from experience that Reolink's Android app doesn't provide access to all of the settings for any of the cameras. That's what the browser access covers. So it's absolutely insane that they set the camera to not provide web access.Other issues:The latency is horrible on this camera. I test it by plugging it into the same high-speed Ethernet switch that my (non-Windows) computer uses. 4-feet cable from camera to switch and 6-inch cable from switch to the computer. It takes 4-seconds before the image is updated. For a security camera, that's horrible but not as bad as the 10-second latency I have had with other Reolink cameras. Most of the cameras are not flexible in their mounting possibilities, made worse by Reolink not accommodating threaded mounts on most of their devices.Reolink's rain-protection for the connectors never ever work. Every single camera that has even been exposed to rain has failed when I don't use third-party protective cases. The Reolink app is slow, flaky, and under-featured — same with the web client — and neither offer a totally full-screen view. The only positive note on this particular camera is that the panning motor is extremely quiet. On the downside, the camera cannot pan back and forth automatically. It can only follow movement or be controlled manually. Yet another detail that Reolink omits from the listings. You need to be a detective to figure out what's what with Reolink. For example, try going to their website and seeing a complete comparison between all of their PTZ cameras. \Hey Reolink! Less glitzy photos, more useful details in tables.\ The biggest negative is that Reolink doesn't mention needing a Windows PC in order to let the camera interact with third party software and, just as importantly, via browser access. You can of course access the camera through Reolink's app (e.g., on Android) but the app doesn't offer the full range of settings for any of Reolink's camera models (as in those required to unlock full access). That's why it's absolutely insane that Reolink set the camera to not provide web access, especially because access is password-protected anyhow.I haven't used Windows for at least 25 years, so I had to buy a mini-PC in order to use the camera. That said, I gotta say that the Reolink Windows app is pretty good. In contrast, even when not compared to the Windows app, the Reolink web app is clunky and under-featured.One thing to know about Reolink's cameras in the rain is that their protective connectors rarely work. Every single camera that has even been exposed to rain has failed when I don't use third-party protective cases. I have had great success with the outdoor cases that protect connections between two heavy-duty extension cords. As for the PTZ feature, my experience is both positive and negative. On the good side, the motor is fast and really quiet. I can't speak to how durable it is. On the negative side, the camera doesn't have the ability to automatically scan back and forth, which is one of the features I wanted and definitely something Reolink's listing should have made clear. The focus adjustment is relatively fast after movement, which is one of the advantages of this PTZ model over Reolink's more expensive offerings. 2024-04-26 03:35:29 2024-04-26 14:04:33
