This was the reason that I purchased this brand. The camera has a clear image, but the connectivity is not great. I have another wifi camera birdfeeder but the other had the solar charging panel attached to the roof and it struggled to get sufficient sunlight through trees at the desired location to charge, which is why I got this one, so I could have the wifi panel a bit further away and reach adequate sun. The other feeder that I had would connect immediately for livestream. This one will often take over 30 seconds to connect or will timeout and not connect at all, it is not reliable. It is in the same exact location and is right next to outdoor router, so there is great wifi at its location. Also, it will only permit 20 seconds maximum of recording. While it does capture birds that arrive at the feeder, it definitely does not capture all of them. My other feeder will show dozens of visits a day from various birds. On the same day, this feeder, which is only a few feet away will only sometimes one or even none. I sometimes watch the birds eat out of the feeder in person while I am in the yard, but then I receive no notification about the bird and there is no video of that bird that was captured on the app or in the SD card, so it misses so many of them. To be fair, when it does actually capture a bird, the video is clear, although is sound is not great. About a week after purchase, I was emailed by manufacturer, Soliom with an offer for one year of the cloud service with the AI identifer service if I would post a positive review on Amazon, but it said that if I changed the review to be negative they would stop the service. I think this is a shady practice from the company to get false reviews. I based my purchase on other positive Amazon reviews. While the picture is great, the motion detector is way too sensitive (and I have mine on low sensitivity) and I get notifications every few minutes all day (basically any time there is a breeze since ours isn't close enough to any foot traffic from our house), plus it drains the battery. I bought a different shepherds hook so I could stabilize it more with an additional hook attachment. While this stabilized it and I received less notifications, it also caused the nectar to leak out since it was on a slight tilt (an incredibly slight tilt at that). I changed the stabilization method to a twist tie that holds it slightly steady and doesn't put it on a tilt at all, but it is still leaking all over, which makes me think it must just be a product defect. The battery is also draining even faster than it did when I first got it and I was receiving more notifications, so I'm not sure what is going on. I also bought the regular bird feeder that Soliom makes that comes with a solar panel. I have yet to set it up, but I'm hoping it doesn't have the same issues. I'm hoping that at least with the solar panel, it won't drain the battery as fast as my hummingbird feeder one is. I'm just bummed because I'm outside of the return window and on top of that, I'm constantly filling mine back up after it leaks everywhere and makes a sticky mess, and the battery is draining even faster now (maybe heat makes it drain faster? I did buy a sunshade to go above it though, so who knows). I was debating getting the pro plan for my Soliom feeders to help adjust the sensitivity because I heard that you can make it so it only records birds and eliminates all the other notifications from breezes, but I don't want to spend the money if I'm not getting any hummingbirds to the feeder. Our hummingbirds are visiting my hanging baskets, but not this feeder. I'm pretty bummed.
