The quality of the pictures and video is important to us. We a few issues with this product. First, no matter the settings, the camera triggers on anything moving or light changing in the background. Many false triggers. Second, it's focus area is very narrow. Third, it fails to send emails when action triggers the camera. Next and you can see this from one of the customer-provided videos, the colored roof of the feeder casts a (red) hue across the feeding area: the result is that you think you're seeing a cute little redheaded bird when in fact, you're seeing a completely differently colored bird. There are roof/shade issues too. Next, when we purchased this unit, we didn't figure out that it doesn't mount like most bird feeders via a wire that goes through the top to mount to a typical bird feeding pole. This means you have screw this into a building or clamp to a pipe, strap to a tree or install a post. What we like about pole feeders is that you can fight against squirrels. This feeder doesn't really a defense against squirrels. Also, you cannot take stills from the recordings-you have to take screen captures with your phone which is a much lesser quality. You can only take still pictures in \Live\ mode. The feeder/roof is hard to open and close. Not a ton of room for very many birds. All that said, If they fixed the above issues, this would be near perfect. This product is very close but just not there.The things they get right are the packaging, included micro-SD card and mounting options. I charged and tested it when I received it last month. Worked great, but it was time for the hummingbirds yet.Over the weekend I checked the migration map and saw that there were hummers in our area. I filled the feeder and hung it outside.No hummers yet … but the motion detector sends me notifications ALL THE TIME !! Even a little breeze gets a notification. So far today I have deleted around 500 notifications. And these motion notices have nothing to do with a person or animal walking by. The motion is the breeze moving the birdhouse / camera. I just can’t believe that it was designed this way.It’s too late to return (today is the deadline and too late in the day to return it) so I will have to keep it.I have my setting correct for low motion sensor. Have gone thru all of the other setting. I did schedule SLEEP mode during the night so I wouldn’t have a lot of notifications to delete in the mornings.I have a Bird Buddy camera that works great and I don’t get notifications all the time, only when there is a bird on the feeder. This is how I expected this one to work.Anyway, I dinged a couple of stars for this reason. I will review again if I’m contacted with a fix or if a software update in the app fixes this.It’s a good camera. Picture / video quality good. | EDIT:Solariom contacted me after my original review. They gave me some suggestions on how to stabilize the feeder and also offered my money back or a new feeder. I chose a new feeder. This new feeder / camera seems to work better and the motion detector appears to be less squirrelly! I have secured it better and I’m not getting the constant notifications about new videos and having to constantly delete the videos.They also sent me a solar panel to use with it! This should work great not having to charge the battery as often.Again, this camera takes great pictures of the hummers. Excellent video quality.
