us LSVISION B0CMH9M3R7 R139BPBM5EBG61 Verified Purchase Jim Humphries 2024-05-05 3.0 4.0 Camera is great - User Support is lousy 4.0 out of 5 stars We live in the California Central Valley and own a boat berthed in Northern California. Going to the boat is an 8 hour round-trip drive. We bought the camera for remote security surveillance so we could check on the boar from home.Setup was pretty easy with the iPhone app and the camera functioned perfectly for more than a month - until I tried to access the camera and got a message that my password had expired. What ensued was a trip down the proverbial rabbit hole. The UBox app has provision for resetting the password remotely but that feature doesn't seem to work. I went through the reset process and I was supposed to receive a verification code at my email address but it never arrived (I tried no fewer that 12 times) so I was stuck and couldn't access the camera.A remote surveillance camera you can't access is pretty useless.I contacted user support via Amazon and explained that the password reset part of the app wasn't working. They suggested that I go to the camera, reset it and then reconfigure the settings in the app - basically that I should drive for 8 hours to repeat the initial installation all over again.I explained that I didn't want to travel to the camera, that I wanted to reset the password remotely using the app reset feature but that the verification code was never being sent to my email.I requested that user support either fix the app or that they send me the verification code directly. They replied (again) that I should travel to the camera and repeat the install process over again. I regard that as being totally non-responsive.So, I'm left with the prospect of having to travel to the camera about every month to reset it and repeat the installation process. In my mind, the necessity to that renders as \useless\ the otherwise super camera. The whole idea was that the camera would function remotely so I could monitor the boat without having to be there. Apparently, UBox User Support doesn't see this as an issue worth troubling themselves about.Maybe this wouldn't be an issue for people who want to use the camera to monitor their home but for me and other folks who want to monitor in a remote location I think it's a really inconvenient and disappointing defect.Great camera, brain dead User Support. I'm not going to test it yet because I found my old password and that still worked to access the camera but I am happy that they finally acknowledged the problem and responded in a positive way. I'll add a star for that. 2024-05-08 01:14:37 2024-05-09 12:35:46
