Customer service is amazing. They were very good about sending out plenty of texts and emails and calling you.THE CONS...[#1] SHORT BATTERY LIFE: Battery lasted roughly 9-10 days before dead. I didn't get notification about the battery (probably user error on my part as I didn't set up the notifications) so I found out on DAY 14 which is about 3-4 days AFTER the battery died. I run a car rental business so IF I had rented out this vehicle and the customer decided to keep (steal) the car - I wouldn't have been able to track it.[#2] CONFUSING INTERFACE / NOT USER FRIENDLY: I consider myself to be pretty good with tech stuff (kinda like 8 out of 10 type good) but the user interface on this unit is pretty intricate -- TOO intricate, with so many icons on the map, with terminology that the average user would NOT even recognize or understand without tech support or Google. I found myself just messing around clicking on different things to see what it does - being reluctant to call tech support bc I figure it should already be user friendly to where I shouldn't have to call tech support. Neither the app nor the desktop web version is user friendly in my opinion. It's got a lot going on.[#3] ACCURACY: The accuracy was kinda off - meaning after I recharged the unit and it powered back on - the map showed my vehicle moving slightly as if I was driving for 2-3 seconds. Mind you, the unit is with me in the house, not mounted in the car. Not really a big deal bc maybe it was just adjusting or calibrating itself...but again, not a biggie.[#4] INCONVENIENCE: With the unit being so small - I can't understand why it took several hours to recharge AND it never did reach 100% full charge...it stuck on 99% for hours until I gave up and unplugged it from the charger. Using the waterproof mounting case adds / increases its size and makes it more challenging to hide. The "suggested" hiding spots that they recommend really limits your hiding options. They DON'T recommend you to hide it in the engine bay (I can understand excessive heat issues under the hood) bc they say it won't receive signal under the hood or in the engine bay. Also it's NOT recommended to hide it inside the car (huh?) not even in the trunk, under a seat, or not even the glove box (SMH). It HAS TO BE hidden outside of the vehicle (like in the tire well), underneath vehicle but kinda close to the door edge, or maybe underneath the front or rear bumper.[#5] SERVICE & FUNCTIONALITY: Even though I knew ahead of time that there is a "delay" with the unit sending location updates back to you - i still wanted to try it (thinking, how bad could waiting 30-60 seconds be??). I paid for the lowest cost plan $29.99/mo (with updates every 60 seconds). When i tested the unit (tracking myself on the phone app as i drove) I found that waiting 60 seconds is a LONG TIME when waiting to get an up-to-date real-time location report. Imagine you walk out of the grocery store to realize your car has just been stolen, you see your car driving off and you pull up the app to track it. You see the car showing on the app to be in the parking lot STILL -- but you gotta wait and hold on for a 60 second count for the app to tell you the car's latest location. Imagine talking to the police on the phone and telling them to hold on for 60 seconds and I'll tell you where the car is - LOL. Each 60 seconds the car is in a WHOLE NOTHER place. That was pretty "irking" to say the least.[#6] COST: The monthly fees are kinda pricey as compared to other trackers. Also you have to pay MORE just to have quicker tracking updates ($30/mo for 60 secs) ($40 for 30 secs) ($50 for 5 secs).I called to cancel on day 17 I believe (July 1, 2024) So roughly 2 weeks of use /service. Customer care was swift to take care of my issue with canceling and mentioned that a refund should hit my account in 3-5 business days.I switched to a competitor that offers a "plug & play" unit that has almost instant updates (every 1 or 2 secs) for just $9.99/mo (they recently improved from 15 second updates at $9.99/mo). Also, it never needs to be removed from the vehicle to be recharged.
