Sensitive Motion, Great Camera |
There are many things I like about this hummingbird feeder with camera. It is well made and the camera is very clear, and it was easy to assemble and use.However, it is disappointing because it is very sensitive to any movement such as change in light, tree branches moving, wind, etc. When it senses any movement, it takes a video. There were days when I had over 900 videos recorded. It did capture videos of birds at the feeder, but out of 900, there might be 2 or 3 with birds. I was expecting it to give some sort of notification when a bird is at the feeder, but it does not. It just records for 10 seconds any time it senses any kind of movement. It was hanging in my yard, but I transferred it to a table, to see if the birds would still come. This solved most of my problems. Each day I get 7-10 videos instead of several hundred, and there are birds in every one. Since it does not swing, it works very well.Also, great customer service! I reached out to them with my above concerns and they were very responsive and helpful. All in all, a good camera which can also be used for security in surrounding areas as well.Overall not being able to hang the feeder is unfortunate, as are the lack of app notifications. With that said, I am still enjoying the videos of hummingbirds every day in its modified position. |
