With the 30 second setting it will record for that amount of time so if there is something in view of the camera your recordings will get broken up into 30sec bits and I think it doesn't start recording again until the motion is reactivated meaning if something is still in view you might miss some of it based on 30 second clips with dead spots in between because motion hasn't reactivated it (where other devices record for say 30 seconds after the motion stopped). I have not tried the 24/7 recording because I really only need the clips where somebody is there and I don't want to filter through all the video. Maybe I'm missing something on the interval but I would prefer it to have a fuller recording of the beginning and duration of a motion/activity.It does not have tracking feature in the app (ie following a person or vehicle by rotating the camera). It also does not have a default view location, so you rotate the camera from the app where you want it to view and that's what you get unless manually rotating it via the app.The 300mb included card lasted me a couple of days and was really just enough to get the camera started up and working. It looks like it will use about 4gb per month with about 8-12 events (30 second) and me checking it periodically also. You can use most any SIM card so you can search for a prepaid SIM card and find one that seems to fit your usage.In all the camera is serving its purpose with no frills.
