That alone will give them a longer, healthier life and me less vet bills.Dislikes: The bowls detach way too easily and are hard to keep connected to the unit. I had to use tin foil to wedge in and hold them in place. The button to manually dispense a serving never worked. The "clock" lagged. If I set a feeding for 7 a.m. it wouldnt dispense until a few minutes after, and that lag kept increasing. And lastly, it didn't make three years before I had to buy a new feeder. I'm hoping the next feeder lasts longer. The ability to set feeding times, feeding amounts and even customize a sound that plays when the food is dispensed was AMAZING! Sadly, I came back from a week vacation to find that the feeder was not working AT ALL! Like…. Not at all. Even when I manually press the dispense button, nothing would come out. I cleaned it out thoroughly, unplugged and tried to reset it - and nothing. Thankfully I had friends check on the cats while I was gone but I don’t even think they noticed it was not working properly. So my cats got wet food every other day from my friends instead of wet food AND the dry food that the feeder was supposed to dispense. Could’ve turned out much worse but the cats were okay. Having to buy a new one of these every year should not have to be the case. Typically, I've been able to coax it back to life and things seemed mostly ok.However, as of 6/20, the motor has completely stopped working. With the planned obsolescence of most products now, I guess a 2.5 year life on tech is to be expected, but I’m still disappointed. This wasn’t ridiculously expensive, but it was still close to $100 when we got it. I had hoped for a longer life on it.Both cats have absolutely love the scheduled feedings and the audible message we’ve recorded, letting them know when it’s time to eat, has made life so easy.The feeding portions have been easy to adjust, as well, so they they’re fed the proper frequency and amounts for their needs. We have it set up to do multiple small meals every 6 hours, which we worked better for them than bigger meals a couple times a day. With two cats, this has allowed them to eat what they need without leaving leftovers that the other one then inhales.I do wish the feeding bowls were spaced out a bit more between each other, and obv wish the motor lasted longer, but otherwise we’ve really enjoyed this feeder. Not sure I’ll get another one, at least not this brand.
