Because the food bin is wide but the opening to dispense from is in the center, it causes the food to get lower and lower in the middle and stay higher on the sides causing it to dispenses less and less the lower it gets in the middle. When it gets low....maybe about half full or just under I have to start opening it up and moving the food to the center of the bin, otherwise it will not dispense much. As wide as it is, there should be two dispensing holes. One hole for each food bowl rather than a single hole feeding two bowls, make it tall and skinny, or add a stir device inside to move the food to the middle. The less food is in it, the less amount it dispenses at once as if it needs the weight of a lot of food to push it out.
