Great If You Don’t Have Squirrels |
First the positives: The camera and solar panel charger are excellent. The camera automatically focuses for near or distant viewing. The lens provides clear images. We were happy to find that a few hours of sunlight keeps the camera charged. The display is easy to read and understand. The app is simple to download and the unit intuitively easy to configure. The software is easy to navigate. The system is also a piece of cake to assemble. On the negative side, it took only a few hours for squirrels to gnaw off the corner of the feeder (see photo) and chew a wider opening in the seed portal. After a single day they had defaced the front of the feeder. I inserted the rubber plug (provided with the unit) hoping to stop the squirrels from plundering the seed canister. They ripped it out after twenty minutes. Bottom line, this unit makes an excellent security camera system but does not stand up to hungry, determined squirrels. |
