The camera and its interface is meant as a security camera. It does tag the video if there is a bird present but you must wade through all of the other recordings to find them and all of the additional recordings drain the battery life. I also have a bird buddy which was more expensive, but the camera is designed for the feeder and it only records when there is a bird present.
