Terrible start, works fine now - PS You need 2.4Ghz WIFI! |
This product took 1-2 hours to assemble and troubleshoot and was so frustrating. First, I had to call my wifi provider to figure out how to access the 2.4Ghz wifi from our router. I learned that we needed 2.4 after trying very much in vain to set up the camera, which meant I wasted all that time. Then, after I accessed 2.4 G wifi, the camera WOULD NOT scan the QR code to finish setup. It was so frustrating. In the app, there is an option to contact support, and they sent a video that shows it's better to REMOVE the camera (which is easy to do) from the bird feeder and turn the camera 90 deg in front of the QR code and finally the damn thing scanned the code. I do appreciate the thoroughness of customer support and how quick they were - that at least was a good thing about working with this company. Overall, it was so frustrating and we worried that all this time and money (we didn't get it on sale - it was almost $200!!) would come to nothing. But finally, it's up and running and so fun to see the birds up close! Just wish it was a lot easier to set up. It should be much clearer before purchasing that you need 2.4 Ghz wifi - I could have figured all that out earlier on and saved myself a lot of frustration. |
