Short summary:- Needs internet connection for set up AND usage at ALL TIMES- Asks for your PRECISE Location!I bought this camera because it offers both WiFi and a Monitor.It boasts about its security aspects, however there is just NO WAY to set up the camera without an internet connection.After turning on internet for a lockdown WiFi I have, it first needs internet to generate a QR Code, and then it also needs internet to continue the set up.After being upset about the lack of local security, it then prompted me for my PRECISE LOCATION on my iPhone. This is unbelievable. Why do I need to share MY PERSONAL location? The company now knows where I live, that's pretty helpful for hackers.When the entire set up was done, and I could see the video through the app, I turned off internet connection again for that WiFi. The app does not work. I cannot access my camera's feed.Why? Why does it need internet? Is the video being sent somewhere else? Or would it be sent to somewhere else at some point? Please remove this requirement, there is non justification. This is crossing the line.In today's world where privacy is first, it's unbelievable that this just doesn't work without being exposed to the internet.Please don't come to me saying you're secure and you have E2E encryption because I just don't trust it as a customer. If no response is given, I will be returning this product. |
