Anything in or on my ears can and will cause pain and even lead a mini meltdown of its not corrected (like a tag in your shirt that is itchy). Over ear headphones are even worse as they will make my entire ear hurt after about 10 minutes. It's not just an annoyance for me, it's torture. These seemed like the best of everything. However, they were not. PROS: very comfy ON my ears physocally; they don't look horrible. CONS: the sound is "tinny"; they don't block out background noise; others around you can hear what you're playing if they're in close proximity to you. The problem is how they sit too far away from your ear canal as compared to regular in-ear buds. Because of this, it's impossible to make them sound better and you can't get the volume you want (I like it loud). When I press them closer to my ear canal, they sound fine but not when wearing them without pressing them into my ear. This isn't necessarily due to the quality of the buds but the design. Unless you have a stellar product that compensates for them being further away from your ear canal, you're never going to get the sound like you do from in ear buds. I have 2 pairs of in ear buds - Powerbeats and a knock off brand from Amazon that cost me $18. Powerbeats are the best but the knock offs are not that far behind. There is no comparison between these and even the knock off brand.
