Poor Motion Detection |
Setup: Set-up is simple with the QR code but you are required to enter billing information to get the camera going. This is a little annoying if you want to get them up and running but aren't ready to put them out in the field.Billing: I really do not like the $10 per camera billing model. While 1000 pictures is a lot, I would much rather have a shared picture limit between cameras or a cheaper plan.Triggering: Upon first setup, this took a ton of images of nothing. I tried all sensitivity settings without much change. Changing to the smart capture resulted in a significant reduction in false positives, but I wasn't sure how many false negatives there are. I put this just above a Tactacam Reveal X on the same tree and it turns out it this missed a lot of what the Tactacam caught.Picture Quality: Very good. I really like the HD request feature. Unlike other cameras where you have to retrieve the HD image in person, you get this over the airOverall, if the triggering/detection worked well, this would be a nice trailcam but the poor detection and lack of sensitivity control really hurt the utility of this trailcam. |

not useable at all without a paid account |
Paid account is required to use. Otherwise it is an expensive brick. Also requires 16 AA batteries. If you are thinking you can just use it manually and read the data off the SD card, think again. Absolutely can not use it without a paid account. I'm not willing to pay for an account when I'm not planning on using them in the field until deer season, and I can't even test them to see if they work! |
