The system just isn't good in many ways. It is not easy to setup and there are essentially no instructions, nothing to explain the settings. The camera hardware is made such that you can only point the cameras near perpendicular to the surface it is mounted on. This is because at least one of the antenna will hit the mounting portion of the camera. The wireless range is much less than expected. I tried all sorts of remedies to fix the range. (various wifi channels, antenna adjustments, antenna extension, moving the NVR to the attic, so it would have fewer walls to the cameras and more centrally located). Still, 3 of the 8 cameras will lose connections often, and our house is not that large. The Zosi web page says "With normal obstacles like 1-2 walls, we tested 35m (115ft) working distance.", but none of my cameras were more than one-third that distance. The AI detection is flaky. One camera detected fog water particles as a person. Another camera detected me as a car. (I am a little bit overweight, but my butt isn't that large). The Android software is not much better. With control small and poorly placed. One control for selecting all recordings is so far up in the corner, it is nearly impossible to select. One of the power adapters did not work. It took over a week to get a replacement after contacting them. The whole system feels like it was rushed through any testing. It isn't much better than a toy, and I plan to return it after taking it down this coming weekend. |
