This camera just hasn’t worked very well or reliably |
Quality of images/videos: GoodConstruction: fineStrap: fineApp: it’s fine… not great and not fantasticPrimary complaint(s):- Design: It needs a mode where it doesn’t take any pictures but is still “on” so that you can access the memory card and adjust settings. I brought it into the house to troubleshoot, and it’s constantly taking pictures or videos (depending on how I have it set) while I am reviewing the previously-taken pictures, reviewing settings, etc. I want to be able to set it to a mode where it doesn’t add any new content to the memory card. Instead what I have is about 150 videos that I now have to delete, because…EDIT: It may be the case that the camera doesn't take pictures while a device is connected to its Wi-Fi. I'll need to test to confirm this.- Operation: something is up with its motion sensor. It takes pictures/videos of nothing, over and over and over. Consequently you have to wade through a LOT of content just to find that one video with the deer, and also your batteries (8 AA) run down pretty quickly. Then somehow it also DOESN’T catch animals when I know there were some present. I don’t know how this happens. I can’t explain it. I have an old Westport camera that did a great job and caught deer (and some other animals) pretty much every day, but its night vision started to fail and I wanted to upgrade to a Wi-Fi camera. That’s why I got this one, but the operation of the old Westport camera was frankly much better. I don’t know how this camera can take 300 videos of trees that aren’t moving but then won’t activate when four deer walk by.Currently I don’t recommend this camera. |
