Let’s see.- ANC is not great- The app was a disaster: it was impossible for me to create an account, so I have no way to update the firmware or use the app, so I deleted it. Support in the app was supremely unhelpful and the ironically labeled “help” was anything but. I also tried contacting support by email and LOL, no.- Sound is OK, so there is that.- The touch controls are a joke. It take me touching my earbuds 3-5 times before it will register that I’m trying to do anything.- the WORST: it keeps on stopping the audio. I swear that at times, trying to listen to a podcast or audiobook, I would open my app on my phone, turn on the audio stream, close the phone and put it in my pocket, and after 5-10 seconds the stream would pause and I would see Playback was stopped. I would start it again, and again it would stop. And like that over and over. I KNOW this is an issue with these earbuds because I own 4 other pairs, and when I switch to ANY of those, the problem immediately goes away. I have never had this issue with any other brand, or even older generation of SoundPeats buds!I am supremely dissatisfied with these buds. I considered returning them, but my closest Whole Food is almost 30 min away and not worth the drive. So I guess I will eat the cost. It is a shame, because I own a pair of much older SoundPeats True Engine 2’s, and while they are bulkier, have no ANC or app, they work great. As a matter of fact, I still use them from time to time even though the batteries are starting to die. They also have honest-to-goodness mechanical buttons, which in my mind is 100 % better than touch sensitive control like the ones on this newer pair, that are an absolute mess and incredibly unreliable.So, yeah. Stay away from these. I don’t know what SoundPeats has been doing since they made my TrueEngine 2 buds, but from where I am sitting, nothing good. That’s a shame. I guess this is my last pair from this brand I will ever take a chance on. |
