Won't stay "online" overnight |
Bought these Litokam 4MP 2-pack cameras a month ago so I've just missed the "returns" window. Sad. They stay online/connected pretty much throughout the day, but overnight, they drop. What's the point in having the cameras for "overnight" intruder detection like most folks need and want IF the cameras won't stay connected?We even purchased a Wi-Fi extender to see if that fixed the connection problem. Didn't make a difference. And yes, we made sure we're connected to the booster. Our home is only 1500 sq feet so we're not living in a mansion and have bad wireless connectivity or concrete walls or floors...The reason for 2 stars for "night vision" is due to the infrared light reflecting back so bad off the interior window pane, that you can't see outdoors.The reason for 2 stars for "motion detection" is because it was too sensitive; a palm frond moving in the breeze sets it off. And yes, we adjusted the sensitivity. No difference. So it's now set on "person" instead of "motion."The reason for 5 stars for "picture quality": The image/video quality is great.Oh, we also purchased two mini SD cards so the cameras would record to them. That works.Very disappointed in the fact that they won't stay connected. So, three or four times a day, I have to go in the "Little Elf" phone app and force a connection; sometimes that works right away, but many times I get the "retry" message. It's a pain having to fix them three or four times a day to see if they're still online. We have great internet so? (shoulder shrug).When trying to reach support via the app on my iPhone, they want order numbers and serial numbers which I don't have "off-hand" (they say the serial number is beneath the camera which is now screwed to my wall) and I'm not a contortionist.We will have to look into a different brand. And yes, I'm sad about this as I really wanted them to work 24/7 and not so sporadically. |
