Honestly, the concept is great and I’m aiming to try to make it work because I have 3 cats and a busy schedule, however, the app will say that the feeder is empty of food when it’s full, so it’s unreliable because the sensors are wacky. I bought cameras so I can double check that my babies are fed, however, if I didn’t do that, the feeders would have gone back (and still may in the future). Customer service was difficult to reach and when they did return my call they said to “try battery mode” when batteries have nothing to do with the sensors. Don’t use this as a reliable source to make sure your fur babies are fed unless someone else is home or you have cameras to watch it. |

Does its job, one major issue |
So far it’s working ok after one day. It’s the only model that can dispense the large kibble my cat prefers (Royal Canin Maine Coon), which is great. Easy set up. My cat took to eating from the bowl immediately.The only major issue is the variability of the amount of food dispensed. The volume dispensed as noted on the app does not match reality.I feed my cat 3/4 cup kibble/80g per day. I found that their smallest serving “1/10 cup about 10g” can vary between 6.7g or 9.3g; their next option “1/5 cup about 20g” seemed a bit more consistent at 17.8, so 8.9g per serving; 16.3 or 8.15; 18.3 or 9.1. I had been underfeeding her. In order to get the about right quantity I had to set the machine to 4 servings of “1/5 cup,” and 1 serving of “1/10 cup.” It is a bit confusing to have to do this and it would help if there was a way to know the actual weight of food dispensed.I also wish a screwdriver was included for the battery compartment, since it’s an unusually small screw and I haven’t been able to open it yet. I am a bit wary of the plastic silo, since that can get scratches over time that harbor bacteria. You’d have to replace the machine regularly. Eventually they should get away from this kind of plastic, to a material that can’t be easily scratched over time. The desiccant is also quite large and I’m hoping it doesn’t dry out the moisture that came with the kibble. I wish the names for meals allowed more characters, since that could be a place to have some fun (they automatically added “night snacks,” which is more characters than “night lunch” which wasn’t allowed). I’m not a fan of the huge text on the outside. These are minor quibbles. |
