Doesn’t deliver as expected. |
I actually got this to use as a baby (toddler) cam. Nothing fancy needed. I thought the dual camera was cool and would be helpful. In reality, it hasn’t worked out.The camera was easy enough to set up. The app, though, is subpar. Through trial and error, I figured out how to use it for the most part.Reasons the camera isn’t working for me:-The dual cameras are a great idea. Unfortunately, they don’t work in my situation. No matter where I place the camera, one of the other doesn’t capture what I need it to. If I get the fixed cam focused where I want it, the PTZ cam doesn’t go high or low enough to capture where else I need and vice versa. Frustrating.-This camera doesn’t capture motion in a dark room. I can walk back and forth near it or across the room, and it captures nothing! How is that possible? I have tried every setting, and nothing works.-The camera “resets” or something because the bright lights go on out of the blue, and the PTZ camera rotates to the right and then back again. It can do this numerous times an hour. Nothing is recorded, so I don’t know what’s going on. The PTZ camera also makes noise when it moves, so it can alert an intruder that they’re being recorded. Not exactly stealth. And it’s annoying to listen to the camera moving while trying to watch TV or read.-Sharing the app with another is nearly impossible. Following the directions did not work. You’re supposed to create a password for the camera and then send the automatically created QR code from the app. The recipient is supposed to scan the code they receive on their phone. Although I found instructions for scanning a code on your phone from your phone, it didn’t work. After searching the web for an answer, I discovered that the only way I could get the sharing to work was to have the recipient scan the code on my phone from their phone. In other words, the person needs to be right next to you. The recipient needs to first install the Eseecloud app on their phone, create an account, click Add Device and use their phone to scan the QR code on mine. Ugh! Too much work. There could be another way to do this, but I couldn’t find one.What I like:-The video quality is really good at 2K HD and has color night vision when and if it picks up motion.-It’s cool you can move the PTZ camera via the app.-You can use an SD card you supply to record video instead of using a cloud service. The slot only accepts a microSD card, which I couldn’t find anywhere.-You can have notifications sent to your phone.-Others can have access to the camera settings and/or recordings—if you can get it set up.-Has two-way audio to communicate.I will try another place in the house to use it. Although the dual camera is a nice idea, it just doesn’t work in some situations. |
