This is a nice economical camera with solar power, so you don’t need to run wires to power it. It runs on 2.4Ghz WiFi. The camera takes great video and the alerts can be adjusted so you only get people vs. animals.I have an alarm at the end of my driveway so I know when someone comes in the driveway. The purpose of this camera was to give me visual access to the visitor. I want to be able to open the app and see who’s there immediately. Unfortunately, every time I open the app, it takes anywhere from 10-30 seconds to connect to the camera. It says “establishing encrypted channel” and spins until it establishes the connection. I have 300mg internet service and my camera is located about 15 feet from my router. I wrote to tech support to see why it did that. They said to protect the video and privacy - which I get, but It is not meeting my needs when it takes that long to connect. My wifi is vpn protected, so this shouldn’t be an issue. I have other cameras at our home in FL and I can connect immediately to the camera with those cameras (made by another company). I really wish it had the option to turn off the encryption. |
