We have a mesh system for wifi but I added an extender anyway. Unit is positioned less than 40 ft from the house and the mesh system gets wifi to devices up to 400 ft from the house. Even after regular wifi reboots, the wifi connection is unstable and the unit is unable to go to live mode without losing connection but it is functional (when it does decide to connect) and still enjoyable without that feature. Today they sent a firmware update which took the whole unit down and it will not reconnect. Now it's a paperweight as far as a functional camera goes. I really love this unit so this is extra disappointing.
