Faulty cord? Fire hazard?

I bought this for my kitty so whether I was home or not he’d stay fed and happy. I’ve had it for almost five months now. The feeder works great and was super easy to put together. It’s not hard to clean and it gets the job done.My issue however, is the cord it came with. This morning I noticed his food didn’t drop at its correct time. Upon further inspection I saw the machine was off. I examined the cord bc my cat is sometimes a chewer. The cord looked fine until I checked the area it plugs in at on the feeder. The cord was hot, melted, and smelled burnt. I quickly unplugged it and it’s been off ever since because I am afraid it will catch fire. I’ve past the return window now so it’s just wasted money. :( |
